Short description

In this etwinning project pupils from classes in two different countries with the guidance of teachers, mainly the teacher of RE, will try to know various religions, examining subjects as temples, holy objects, religious feasts, religious way of life, ideas and values. Examining a common subject and exchanging material, the pupils will know sides of religion of others and will conceive the variety of religious expression.
Finally through a class blog, they will try to express their opinions on religious aspects .
Age group: 12-18
Duration: Six months.
Model of collaboration: Teachers with team of pupils.
Subjects: RE, Native language, Foreign language, Information technology.
ICT Tools: Blogs, text processor, web pages, digital camera, e-mail, Internet.

Pedagogical value

  • The pupils conceive the multiplicity and the variety of religious expression in the multicultural European society.
  • They comprehend the way with human societies are activated in the frames of religion.
  • They comprehend the effect of religion in the configuration of human behaviour and the way of thought.
  • They are taught mutual understanding and respect of different opinions in European level.
  • Finally they are encouraged to examine if their perceptions of other religions have changed and how.


Pupils will:
  • present themselves and their relationship to religion
  • share opinions about ideas and values of their religion
  • examine aspects of other religions
  • develop their ICT skills by learning to use a blog.


At least three teachers can be involved in this project.(RE, ICT, Language)
  • The teachers’ team plan the implementation of the project in the curriculum.
  • Teachers from partner schools get in contact and agree on a common frame of collaboration (contacts, exchange of material, common language).
  • Determination of a timetable.
  • Checking of availability of school computers, digital photo camera, digital recorder, scanner.
  • A teacher from each school sets up one class blog and enrols his/her pupils. He/she also posts a first entry with a short description of the project and a second one, which will guide the pupils as a model for their postings
  • Introduction of the project to the pupils, exchange of ideas.
  • Entrusting of work in teams of pupils.

Process of collaboration

The collaboration will be developed in five thematic units: 1) Holy places, 2) Holy objects, 3) Religious feasts, 4) Influence of religion in the way of life, 5) Ideas and values.
  • The pupils will shape teams depending on the faculties and their interests.
  • In the beginning there will be email exchanging between the pupils aiming at the acquaintance of children and the familiarization with their subject.
  • Afterwards the teams will undertake a research for their subject using the library of school, the Internet, the school-books. They will also take interviews from religious representatives and will make research in the local society.
  • Finally part of the material that will be assembled and will be the subject of a discussion in the class, will be selected, will be translated by the children with the help of teacher of foreign languages and it will be exchanged between the collaborating schools.
  • The final product that will present and exchange each team will be a class blog and a Power Point presentation. The pupils can also use short videos, Word files, web pages, Twinspace etc.
